Role overview
The Lead Waterfront Engineer and Project Manager will join the Ports, Harbors, and Waterfront practice in Detroit, Michigan. This position serves as both a technical leader and a project manager, guiding the delivery of waterfront and marine infrastructure projects throughout the United States. Project types include ports and terminals, piers, wharves, bulkheads, berthing and mooring systems, and shoreline protection systems. While the role is based in Detroit, it offers the opportunity to work on projects along the Atlantic, Gulf, and Pacific coasts, as well as the Great Lakes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of waterfront, marine, and coastal infrastructure projects
- Oversee project delivery for a range of facilities, including ports, terminals, and shoreline protection systems
- Develop and strengthen client relationships in the Detroit area and support Foth’s growth in the Great Lakes market
- Collaborate with the Great Lakes Ports and Harbors team to deliver projects and expand the firm’s regional presence

This position is primarily based in Detroit, Michigan, with a strong emphasis on local market development. The role involves close collaboration with Foth’s Great Lakes team and engagement with projects nationwide.
