This position offers the flexibility of remote work from any existing Stream location.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise and analyze monthly closing activities across assigned Markets, guaranteeing precise and prompt financial reporting.Guide, mentor, and cultivate a team of corporate accountants (initially two direct reports).Collaborate with Market teams, controllers, and corporate leadership to address accounting needs, resolve issues, and optimize processes.Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting standards.Act as a key liaison between the Market and SRP Corporate Accounting team.Examine financial statement packages to confirm accuracy and uniformity of report presentation.Review accruals, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other essential closing documents.Assist in the implementation and enhancement of accounting processes and systems (Workday).Engage in special projects, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.Work closely with the Controller to bolster strategic accounting operations for the Markets.Design and deliver training for accountants on real estate-specific accounting practices, variance analysis, budget reviews, operating expense reconciliation, and accounting software.Investigate accounting issues, propose solutions, and summarize findings for management presentation.Address Market requests as needed.
