Role overview
The Director of Business Development - Oracle is a senior individual contributor role responsible for driving revenue and expanding Definian’s Oracle practice. The position centers on generating new business and deepening relationships within existing Oracle-focused accounts. Sales activities span the full Oracle ecosystem, including direct Oracle clients, Oracle Consulting Services, and global systems integrators.
This role is not about alliance management. Instead, it requires a strong understanding of the Oracle landscape, partner network, and client base. The Director positions Definian as a trusted data partner throughout the Oracle journey, from migration to modernization, analytics, and AI readiness. Collaboration with the Chief Revenue Officer and delivery leadership is essential to build pipeline, shape deals, and close business across Definian’s offerings.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the full sales cycle for Oracle practice: pursue new clients, grow current accounts, and manage relationships with Oracle’s direct sales teams, Oracle Consulting Services, and global systems integrator partners.
- Build and maintain a high-quality sales pipeline through targeted outreach, leveraging Oracle ecosystem relationships, and engaging in Oracle events and partner networks.
- Establish Definian’s presence in the Oracle ecosystem by building credibility with Oracle account teams, Oracle Consulting Services, and key system integrators, ensuring Definian is considered for Oracle-related data projects.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to exceed revenue targets in migration, modernization, analytics, governance, and AI within Oracle-focused accounts.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial discovery through proposal, negotiation, and closure, using a structured approach to enable predictable forecasting.
- Collaborate with delivery leaders to craft compelling, contract-winning proposals for enterprise clients, ensuring the right technical and solution expertise is included in each opportunity.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and account information in Salesforce for visibility and accountability.
