Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:Oversee the production release of all closure mechanisms related to door and glass operations, including latches, handles, release cables, and window regulators. Lead collaborative development efforts involving body engineering, studio design, and customer experience teams. Manage component release for closure mechanisms throughout the program lifecycle, including concept design, supplier engagement, BOM management, systems requirements, simulation analysis, prototyping, validation testing, and production assistance. Support supplier selection and development in collaboration with purchasing and suppliers. Develop best practices for design and release engineering. Manage part system, subsystem, and component information through the Enovia PLM to Catia V6 environment. Engage in discussions during body design reviews as a stakeholder and representative of closures mechanisms. Mentor junior engineers and champion sound design principles within the body system and across the vehicle. Requirements:Proven knowledge of automotive design and development processes, system requirements, and engineering best practices. Strong understanding of closure mechanisms and the balance of design, functionality, and user experience. Solid grasp of first-principle physics as it relates to closure systems, including loads, forces, and overall system functionality.
