This project explores how people with minimal biology backgrounds can self-learn essential lab techniques, with findings aimed at advancing AI’s role in science. What You Will Do Lab Projects: Carry out DNA assembly (molecular cloning), mammalian cell culture, and cell transfection in BSL-1 and BSL-2 labs. AI Tools: Use AI and standard online resources as needed throughout the project. Independent Work: Complete assignments without direct technical mentorship from staff or other technicians. Each technician receives a dedicated workspace, equipment, and supplies, and works alongside about 40 other researchers.
