As part of our expanding team, you will play a crucial role as a Senior Electrical Distribution Engineer, providing expert technical guidance in electrical distribution infrastructure, including poles, wires, vaults, duct banks, and cables. Your work will adhere to client standards, engineering principles, guidelines, policies, and safety protocols.
This position can be based in any of our major centers across Canada, including Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, or Quebec City.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure the daily operations of the distribution team run smoothly, from service requests to project delivery;
- Develop comprehensive design work packages outlining project scope, timelines, and resource estimates;
- Analyze and resolve engineering issues by conducting independent studies and applying sound judgment to recommend safe engineering designs that facilitate successful project execution;
- Deliver outstanding customer service by engaging with stakeholders, defining the scope of engineering services, establishing basic design criteria, approving technical documentation, and tracking project progress to ensure safety, quality, budget adherence, and timely completion;
- Provide specialized expertise in distribution systems while mentoring and coaching junior team members, establishing high work performance standards, frameworks, and targets;
- Innovate by proposing modifications to enhance work processes, guidelines, instructions, and standards;
- Design overhead line structures and related facilities for voltages up to 35kV in an electric utility setting, including equipment supports, foundations, termination structures, manholes, vaults, and duct banks.
