About the Role...
As a Line Cook I at Soho House, you will play a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates seamlessly. You will be responsible for expertly preparing food and sauces, while providing support to Senior Chefs during service. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will help maintain a calm and productive atmosphere within the team.
A successful Line Cook I is an essential member of our kitchen team, possessing a diverse skill set and demonstrating a proven ability to execute all menu items from preparation to presentation, delivering exceptional dishes across all stations.
Main Responsibilities
- Master all menu items and consistently produce high-quality dishes in a demanding environment across all kitchen stations.
- Prepare food items in various kitchen areas, including the pantry and fry station, while accommodating allergy requests and specific dish modifications.
- Assist with inventory management to maintain sustainable food costs for the kitchen.
- Set up stations following kitchen guidelines and ensure a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
- Monitor waste, cooking temperatures, and overall quality to minimize costs and understand their impact on the company's profit/loss.
- Execute production and a-la-carte dishes, including weekend family meals and feast ideas.
- Delegate tasks as needed while ensuring proper procedures are followed during clocking in and out for shifts and breaks.
- Support the Executive Sous Chef and Junior Sous Chef during pre and post-service meetings as needed.
- Work towards specific goals and adhere to Soho House's standards for speed of service and a consistent guest experience.
- Positively influence the team during high-pressure situations and foster a welcoming work environment that boosts staff morale.
- Participate in “Cook House” training sessions and contribute to mentoring new and existing team members.
- Assist with the cleaning, sanitization, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
- Commit to delivering exceptional service and demonstrating extensive food knowledge.
