The Role...
Join the dynamic kitchen team at Soho House as a Prep Cook I. In this role, you will be responsible for fundamental cooking tasks, managing inventory levels, and supporting various culinary operations as they arise. Success in this position requires a commitment to food safety and sanitation standards, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. A willingness to learn and adapt is essential, as well as enjoying the repetitive nature of certain tasks!
Main Responsibilities
- Adhere to prep lists established by chefs.
- Accurately measure ingredients and prepare cooking essentials, including soup stock.
- Efficiently chop vegetables and prepare various meats.
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees.
- Ensure proper storage and accessibility of all food items.
- Set up condiments and maintain cleanliness at all prep stations.
- Guarantee that all prep areas are fully stocked and operational during service.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the bread warmer.
- Complete assigned side tasks before and after service.
- Support porters with waste disposal.
- Assist with food order expediting for kitchen and servers.
- Maintain a tidy prep and pass area, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Prepare for service as directed by chefs and management.
- Complete all checklists to meet established standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, offering assistance as needed.
- Work closely with the kitchen staff.
- Ensure work areas are properly stocked and maintained.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by kitchen or food and beverage supervisors/managers.
