Internship Overview As a Research Intern at Graphcore, you will contribute to advancing AI research and explore innovative ideas that challenge existing boundaries in critical AI and ML issues. The progression of AI over the last decade has been driven by specialized hardware, and we are dedicated to the belief that hardware-aware AI algorithms and AI-optimized hardware will remain pivotal in this exciting field. We seek candidates who have a passion for scientific inquiry and engineering, equipped with both theoretical and practical skills necessary for impactful AI research. During your internship, you will tackle a research question related to machine learning or accelerated computation. This will involve designing experiments, implementing models and algorithms, analyzing data, and presenting your findings with the goal of sharing your work with the broader research community. You will have the autonomy to pursue the most promising approaches while receiving valuable mentorship and guidance. Our research team is engaged in a variety of topics across the field, including but not limited to efficient training and inference, enhancing model capabilities in factuality and reasoning, image and video generation, world models, and molecular generation for life sciences applications. The Research Team Graphcore Research is involved in both foundational and applied research to characterize the computational demands of machine intelligence and to showcase how hardware can propel the next generation of innovative AI models. We publish our findings in leading AI/ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR, as well as in specialized workshops, and collaborate with other research teams and organizations worldwide.
