This includes the selection and specification of substation equipment, proposal development, cost estimation, project scheduling, and field test plans.Conduct protective relay settings and coordination studies.Execute grounding design, load flow, harmonic analysis, power flow calculations, voltage drop assessments, protective relay settings, and coordination, as well as arc flash studies utilizing specialized software.Advise on compliance with relevant client, local, state, and federal regulations, including AREMA standards, the National Electric Code (NFPA 70), the National Electric Safety Code (IEEE C2), and other applicable US standards.Collaborate closely with diverse system disciplines to develop comprehensive systemwide duct bank drawings and assist CAD teams in BIM clash detection.Provide value engineering insights on traction power systems.Perform technical reviews of designs produced by team members.Engage with other technical disciplines such as communications systems, overhead catenary/third rail systems, electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural, track, and civil engineering.Work alongside Senior Traction Power Engineers throughout the design process, emphasizing constructability.
