This role is pivotal in advising and supporting our trust and administrative services businesses across all levels of the organization in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Senior Counsel will collaborate with various functions to navigate legal matters impacting Great Gray, ensuring alignment with our current and emerging business strategies. Furthermore, the Senior Counsel will play a key role in developing and implementing plans, policies, and procedures for the Legal Team, representing us in internal working groups and committees as needed.The Senior Counsel will be responsible for (i) negotiating and drafting agreements with participating plans and sub-advisors for Great Gray CITs, (ii) overseeing the establishment of new funds and crafting associated documentation, including innovative products like CIT funds with private market exposure and lifetime income features, (iii) formulating and executing legal strategies for high-priority business initiatives, including significant conversions of CIT assets from other trust companies and M&A activities, (iv) supporting our retirement policy and advocacy endeavors, (v) collaborating with our Marketing team to create thought leadership and review marketing materials, (vi) managing legal content on the RPAG platform, and (vii) acting as in-house benefits counsel for Great Gray Group’s employee benefit plans.The ideal candidate will possess a combination of law firm and in-house experience, strong business acumen, a commitment to operational excellence, and a blend of technical, analytical, and communication skills. Emotional intelligence and the ability to effectively advance Great Gray’s priorities are essential.
