Role overview
The Goal-Oriented Career Coach supports clients as they work toward self-sufficiency and career growth. Reporting to the Career Path Programs Manager, this role focuses on developing personalized plans for individuals who may face significant barriers to employment. The coach works both one-on-one and in small groups, guiding clients as they pursue education, job training, and employment that lead to financial stability.
Key responsibilities
- Meet individually with clients to assess their needs through interviews and observation.
- Create tailored plans with clear steps for clients to reach their educational and employment goals.
- Help clients set realistic objectives and connect with education, job training, and skill-building services.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, track progress, and provide regular updates.
- Use online resources to help clients identify job and training opportunities.
- Track and report program performance using database tools.
- Promote a collaborative, supportive environment and represent JVS’s mission within the organization and the broader community.

Work location and schedule
This hybrid position is based in Boston, MA. Two days each week require in-person work at the downtown Boston office or partner sites. The remaining days may be worked remotely.
