Maxwell Energy is looking for a skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our dynamic order management team. This role is critical in overseeing the materials purchasing process and negotiating effectively with suppliers to ensure optimal procurement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Development & Management - Cultivate and qualify suppliers by offering essential support. Address product and field quality issues through collaboration with suppliers and internal teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Sales.
- Costing and Cost Control - Perform cost estimation and drive cost reduction initiatives by analyzing critical components. Guarantee the accurate transmission of specifications on all purchase orders to suppliers across various commodities and maintain a list of shortages. Prepare and send pricing reports and negotiate pricing on a per-order basis.
- Cost Savings Initiatives - Initiate, implement, and monitor cost-saving strategies using various negotiation tactics. Collaborate with the R&D team to optimize product costs by proposing alternative solutions with different suppliers.
- Timely Project Implementation - Work closely with New Product Development teams and suppliers to ensure timely project execution.
- Supplier Management - Oversee suppliers on both technical and commercial fronts. Monitor the timely delivery of materials and provide regular updates to Planning and Project/Inventory Coordinators.
- Excess Inventory Management - Manage the liquidation of excess component inventory held at the EMS and optimize associated costs.
Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management or purchasing roles.
- Experience with PCB, BOM, and component sourcing.
- Proficient in supplier management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and structured thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience in procurement and negotiation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite Tools (spreadsheets, presentations).
Desirable Attributes:
- Strong relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
- Knowledge of strategic supply chain management processes.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional language skills are advantageous.
- A solid network of component manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and stock listers.
