Role Overview
As a Principal Back-End Engineer in Coupang Eats Engineering, you will lead the development of various products and services designed for our customers, partner stores (restaurants and cafes), couriers, and internal operations. This role involves tackling complex, multifaceted challenges to optimize customer experience, merchant management, and delivery efficiency while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Your leadership will drive cross-team initiatives that are vital for business growth while upholding engineering excellence. You will ensure that all engineering platforms within Eats are scalable, extendable, and highly available. Engaging in code-level discussions and collaborating with engineers to build robust software will be key aspects of your role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to the Eats Engineering organization, ensuring scalable and fault-tolerant system development.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and product owners to devise and execute technical strategies and roadmaps focused on scalability and simplicity.
- Lead mission-critical projects alongside various stakeholders to address complex business problems.
- Oversee the architectural plans, applying best practices in architecture and design patterns while continuously simplifying the system landscape.
- Proactively identify and resolve critical system issues, ideally before they arise.
- Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the engineering team.
