The Senior Electrical Design Engineer (MEP) will take charge of the design, coordination, and implementation of electrical systems for diverse building projects, including commercial complexes, hospitals, data centers, residential towers, airports, and industrial facilities. This pivotal role requires a blend of technical knowledge, project leadership, client interaction, and adherence to international codes and standards.Key Responsibilities:1. Electrical System Design:Lead the design of low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) power distribution systems.Design transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), and panel boards.Conduct electrical load calculations and demand analysis.Perform short circuit, voltage drop, and protection coordination studies.Implement uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, generators, and backup power solutions.Design earthing and lightning protection systems.2. Lighting & Small Power Systems:Develop interior and exterior lighting designs, including lux level calculations.Design emergency lighting systems.Create small power layouts and socket distribution plans.Implement energy-efficient lighting solutions such as LED and smart controls.3. Technical Documentation:Prepare key documents, including:Single Line Diagrams (SLD).Load schedules.Panel schedules.Cable sizing calculations.Bill of Quantities (BOQ).Technical specifications.Review shop drawings and material submittals for compliance and accuracy.4. Coordination & Project Management:Collaborate with Mechanical, Plumbing, Civil, and Architectural teams.Participate in client and consultant meetings.Ensure compliance with local and international codes (IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, and local authority regulations).Provide technical support during construction and conduct site inspections.5. Leadership & Mentoring:Guide junior engineers and draftsmen.Review design outputs for quality and accuracy.Ensure project delivery aligns with timelines and budget constraints.

Core ResponsibilitiesModeling: Create intricate 3D HVAC models for systems such as chilled water, ducting, and VRF, utilizing Revit MEP and AutoCAD software.Coordination: Conduct clash detection with Navisworks to address conflicts involving structural, architectural, and other MEP services.Documentation: Produce high-quality shop drawings, installation layouts, and technical documentation.Standards Compliance: Ensure that all models comply with project specifications, industry norms (such as ASHRAE and SMACNA), and BIM execution plans.Quantity Take-offs: Derive material schedules and equipment lists (BOQ) directly from the models.Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, engineers, and on-site personnel to incorporate revisions into the models.
