Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Palantir Foundry (and other tools) to integrate data from various enterprise systems (such as NetSuite, Workday, etc.) and external data sources. Ensure the efficiency and fault tolerance of pipelines while managing significant data volumes from manufacturing and field operations, including IoT sensor feeds.
Data Modeling & Ontology: Create and enhance data models that structure enterprise data into meaningful frameworks. Utilize Foundry’s ontology capabilities to define business objects (e.g., Customers, Work Orders, Inventory Items) and ensure the linkage of data reflects real-world relationships. Continually refine these models to accommodate new business requirements, such as adding new attributes or object types as new programs launch.
Data Quality & Governance: Establish data validation and quality assurance mechanisms within pipelines to guarantee data accuracy and consistency. Monitor pipeline operations and set alerts for anomalies or failures, while collaborating with the team to uphold data governance policies (data ownership, access controls, compliance) within Foundry and downstream systems.
Cross-Functional Support: Partner with Data Analysts and business stakeholders to grasp their data needs and enhance data outputs for analysis. For instance, if Finance requires specific reporting metrics, you will optimize data accordingly.
About the job
Join ICON as a Senior Data Engineer in our Data Intelligence & Systems Architecture (DISA) team, where you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and expanding our enterprise data platform using Palantir Foundry. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the ingestion, modeling, and activation of data that drives reporting, strategic decision-making, and intelligent automation throughout the organization.
Rather than merely constructing data pipelines, you will be architecting a Digital Twin for an industrial robotics and construction company. Your collaboration will span across departments including Supply Chain & Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering Support Services, Software, Field Operations, and Technology R&D. Together, you will centralize high-value data sources, create scalable assets, and facilitate critical business applications, from real-time analytics to AI/ML-enhanced workflows and decision-making processes.
This highly technical and cross-functional position is perfect for someone with robust data engineering expertise, a profound curiosity about the business, and a proactive mindset. This role is based at ICON’s headquarters in Austin, Texas, and reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations.
