We are seeking a proactive and driven IT Business Analyst to join our team and contribute to exciting new outsourced projects.
The IT Business Analyst serves as the essential link between the Business Units and the IT Department. This role involves the systematic collection, evaluation, prioritization, and high-level analysis of business requests from all Business Units. This is a critical role that ensures IT requests are accurately documented and transformed into actionable high-level requirements, which are then integrated into the overarching demand backlog after thorough qualification. The position reports to the IT Project Management & Business Analysis Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly consolidates, reviews, and evaluates demand requests to maintain a unified and transparent IT Demand Backlog.
- Facilitates Demand Review Boards / Steering Committees, presenting insights and supporting strategic decision-making.
- Tracks each demand item throughout its lifecycle until handover to IT delivery teams.
- Conducts initial scoping and preliminary analysis to validate business needs and expected outcomes in collaboration with Demand requestors.
- Analyzes current business processes, identifies gaps, and documents findings in high-level Business Requirements Documents.
- Defines initial acceptance criteria and high-level user stories to aid in estimation and planning.
- Collaborates with Technical Leads to evaluate feasibility, constraints, and alignment.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for IT demand intake and prioritization discussions.
- Builds strong relationships with Business Units, ensuring a deep understanding of their objectives and challenges. Communicates effectively regarding timelines, prioritization decisions, dependencies, and IT resource limitations, setting realistic expectations and fostering transparency between business and IT stakeholders.
- Supports the IT governance framework by maintaining KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
