Luminis Health is hiring a Medical Assistant in Annapolis, MD. This position blends administrative and clinical tasks to help providers deliver patient care and keep the office running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Register and schedule patients, and print provider schedules as needed.
- Maintain examination rooms and office areas by keeping them stocked with medical and office supplies. Order clinical supplies according to practice guidelines.
- Follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards. Complete lab requests, referrals, and health forms, maintain required logs, and administer injections, EKGs, and spirometry. Perform phlebotomy and provide therapeutic treatments as directed by physicians, following state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient eligibility using systems such as Medicaid EVS, and identify when referrals or preauthorizations are required.
- Answer and screen incoming calls, greet patients courteously, and maintain telephone etiquette while safeguarding patient health information.
- Enter data accurately and promptly in electronic health records, accessing patient files only as needed for assigned duties.
- Take and record patient vital signs, prepare patients for exams, assist providers during assessments, and support the clinical team as needed.
- Demonstrate I. C. A. R. E. behaviors to help create a positive patient experience.
- Handle additional projects and duties as assigned.
