POSITION OVERVIEW:The University System of Maryland (USM) encompasses twelve higher education institutions and three regional centers. A consortium, known as the Maryland Connect Workday Consortium, has been established among five of these institutions to optimize the use of Workday ERP for Human Resources and Finance operations.The Workday Reporting Lead is responsible for the design, configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of Workday and PRISM reports for the Maryland Connect Workday Consortium. This role is pivotal in managing and enhancing reporting operations, driving technological advancements, and providing strategic leadership and guidance to support the organization's objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Service Operations and Customer Support:Facilitates understanding of reporting requests from stakeholders.Leads initiatives related to the development of new dashboards, reports, and analytics.Troubleshoots and resolves report-related issues.Assists in report-writing for integration development and modifications.Establishes report-writing standards.Manages a centralized report repository.Technology Advancement:Investigates new Workday reporting features to effectively meet user requirements.Provides expertise on reporting best practices.Leadership:Offers insights and recommendations to enhance reporting processes, data accuracy, and user experience.Collaborates with the Executive Director to formulate strategies, roadmaps, and implementation plans for future consortium products.Engages with campus stakeholders and the user community to identify and scope process and system improvements.Oversees and facilitates testing of reports.

POSITION SUMMARYThe Workday Financials Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting five institutions within the University System of Maryland, all part of the Maryland Connect Workday Consortium. These institutions collaborate to harness Workday as their enterprise resource planning solution. The Workday Financials Manager provides expert consultation and guidance to the Finance departments of these institutions, ensuring optimal utilization of Workday Finance products. This role is crucial for leveraging Workday Financials, Procurement, Expenses, and Grants to enhance operational efficiency and streamline financial processes. A deep expertise in Workday Financials and financial reporting is essential for success in this position.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESService Operations and Customer Support:Guide and lead consortium finance teams to maximize the value of Workday in addressing challenges and improving financial operations.Collaborate with Workday to stay informed about product updates and communicate relevant information to central and campus teams.Provide insights and recommendations to refine reporting processes, boost data accuracy, and enhance user satisfaction.Document finance-related system configurations, processes, and modifications.Assist in training initiatives for Finance, Adaptive, Procurement, Expenses, and Grants modules.Support resolution of Tier 3 & 4 issues, including Service Desk tickets.Coordinate with compliance and data privacy leads across central and campus teams.Technology Advancement:Evaluate existing business processes, perform gap analyses, and contribute to designing and transforming workflows. Recommend functionalities that align with institutional objectives.Advise on best practices for optimizing Workday feature usage.Develop systems and frameworks as templates for institutions to implement in internal and cross-institutional projects.Lead upgrades, enhancements, testing validation, and performance evaluation of Workday financial modules including Finance, Adaptive, Procurement, and Grants.Collaborate with Workday support teams and business functions to ensure accurate documentation of integration-related system functions and processes.Strategic Planning & Project Management:Partner with the Executive Director to formulate strategies, roadmaps, prioritization, and implementation plans for future products supporting the consortium.Assist the Executive Director in facilitating Finance module governance groups and offer recommendations for project prioritization.Engage with campus stakeholders and the user community to identify and define process and system improvements, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
