Internship Overview

The Environmental Test Engineer Intern program runs for twelve weeks in Fall 2026. This paid internship is open to students currently enrolled at a four-year university. Interns work on substantial projects, often handling hardware and software that will fly in space. Many past interns have transitioned to full-time roles at Astranis after their internships.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software.
  • Set up and operate environmental test equipment, including:
    • Ambient thermal chambers
    • Thermal Vacuum Chambers (TVAC)
    • Vibration shaker tables
    • EMI/EMC test equipment
  • Develop hands-on experience with test instruments such as thermal chambers, vibration tables, data acquisition systems (DAQs), and oscilloscopes to execute test plans.
  • Carry out environmental testing, including vibration, acoustics, thermal, thermal vacuum, and RF tests.
