The Environmental Superintendent will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of environmental remediation projects. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional skills in project planning, coordination, and team leadership to ensure that field construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight:
- Lead and manage multiple project sites with minimal oversight.
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective scheduling and task execution.
- Health and Safety:
- Take charge of enforcing all health and safety protocols as per ERRG and client requirements.
- Team Leadership:
- Guide field personnel, equipment operators, and subcontractors in work planning and execution.
- Interpret project specifications and manage construction phases to avoid delays.
- Documentation:
- Maintain precise daily field documentation.
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of construction methods and processes.
- Contract Understanding:
- Grasp and recognize contract stipulations.
- Identify potential changes or items that fall outside the scope of work.
- Cost Management:
- Assist in cost estimation with detailed justifications.
- Proactively mitigate scheduling conflicts.
- Ensure adherence to budget and timelines in daily activities.
- Procurement:
- Source materials and negotiate effectively with vendors and subcontractors.
- Accident Investigation:
- Conduct initial accident investigations and develop relevant standard operating procedures.
- Project Support:
- Participate in site assessments, gather subcontractor quotes, and assist in proposal submissions.
- Technical Skills:
- Leverage computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office.
- Initiate improvements for operational efficiency.
- Collaboration and Goal Setting:
- Work closely with senior management to define both long-term and short-term objectives.
- Cost Projection:
- Support in forecasting project completion costs and preparing change order documentation.
- Team Supervision:
- Oversee and mentor up to 10 direct reports in their career progression.
- Travel:
- Be willing to travel up to 50% of the time to diverse project sites across various states.
