Role Overview: Environmental Health and Safety Lead

This position is based on-site in San Carlos and Hayward, California, covering all U. S. facilities. The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead will establish, manage, and grow EHS programs across manufacturing, R&D, and operational sites. The role centers on maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, managing risk, and supporting safe, sustainable operations as the company expands. Close collaboration with leadership is expected, especially when building EHS initiatives for new manufacturing locations. The EHS Lead also serves as the main point of contact with regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive EHS programs that meet all relevant regulations for U. S. facilities.
  • Lead the development of EHS protocols for new manufacturing sites, from planning through operational launch.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits, develop corrective actions, and oversee remediation of identified issues.
  • Promote a safety-first culture through training, communication, and direct engagement with employees and teams.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create policies and procedures that support safe work practices.
  • Monitor and report on EHS key performance indicators, incident investigations, and compliance metrics to company leadership.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, managing compliance initiatives, permits, and external inspections.
  • Develop and maintain programs such as Hazard Identification and Incident Investigation.
