QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Transportation from an ABET-accredited institution.0 to 5 years of relevant experience. An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred, with the ability to obtain it within 12 months; Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software is a plus. Experience with NCDOT (North Carolina Department of Transportation) is desirable. A genuine desire to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team on diverse transportation engineering projects, including roadways, trails, and pedestrian pathways.
  • Engage in tasks such as designing horizontal and vertical alignments, developing drainage systems, creating signage and pavement markings, conducting safety assessments, ensuring erosion and sediment control, devising maintenance and protection of traffic plans, and preparing construction documentation.
  • Additional duties may encompass report writing, field reconnaissance, project rendering, and participating in meetings and conferences as required.
