Biffa is hiring an Engineering Trainee (Engineering Mate/Improver) to join the team at the Edmonton Recycling MRF in London. This entry-level position is aimed at individuals with limited mechanical experience who want to develop their skills and work toward becoming a fully qualified Technician. Biffa will sponsor local college qualifications as part of the training and development process.
Location and working hours
- Based at Edmonton, London
- Option to work Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday
- Shifts run 6am to 6pm, four days per week
What you will do
- Respond to operational engineering needs as directed by the Engineering Supervisor to help reduce downtime
- Follow safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace
- Work on plant and machinery to identify and correct faults
- Assist with both preventative and breakdown maintenance on site equipment
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify causes of failures and help prevent recurrence
- Identify potential faults and suggest improvements for efficiency or reliability
- Maintain a tidy and organized workplace, including tools and engineering facilities
