Engineering Manager, User Experience

- Take ownership of dimensional requirements from initial design through to production launch for designated vehicle systems or commodities.- Create and maintain 3D tolerance analysis (DVA) models to forecast variations and evaluate design robustness.- Define and validate GD&T schemes in alignment with functional and manufacturing intents.- Collaborate with Design Engineering to influence part geometry, locators, and interfaces to achieve dimensional and craftsmanship objectives.- Facilitate both top-down and bottom-up dimensional integration, ensuring compatibility with vehicle-level specifications.- Review and endorse drawings, CAD outputs, and engineering amendments with a focus on dimensional accuracy.- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering on fixture concepts, locating strategies, and build assumptions.- Assist Quality and Manufacturing teams in resolving issues pertaining to gaps/flushing, fit, and alignment.- Analyze build and measurement data (CMM, scan data, build reports) to validate models and implement corrective measures.- Lead or assist in dimensional root cause investigations, proposing effective countermeasures along with design or process enhancements.- Present dimensional status, risks, and recommendations during design and program evaluations.- Engage in discussions with suppliers regarding dimensional feasibility, tolerance capabilities, and corrective actions.
