Engineering Manager - Infrastructure & Edge

We are seeking an Engineering Manager (Infra/Edge) to join our London team (hybrid, 3 days in the office). In this pivotal role, you will lead the team responsible for the production-grade infrastructure that supports our global operations, ensuring optimal performance and security of our international traffic.

Your Responsibilities
As a key member of the Edge team within Foundations, you will enhance the performance, reliability, and security of our north/south traffic at the interface between our global systems and the external environment.
Your daily tasks may include:
Lead Technical Strategy: Take charge of evolving the company’s Edge strategy, which encompasses CDNs (Cloudflare/Fastly), traffic management, and security protocols such as WAFs and DDoS mitigation.
Drive Delivery: Establish priorities and decompose complex projects into manageable deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality execution for critical systems.
Mentor & Develop: Oversee and coach engineers at various levels, fostering an environment of psychological safety, trust, and structured career advancement.
Ensure Operational Excellence: Define standards for SLOs/SLAs, monitoring, and non-intrusive alerting while leading incident responses and long-term preventative measures.
Collaborate Globally: Work closely with Staff+ Engineers and leaders from DoorDash and Wolt to align on architectural design, reliability benchmarks, and global traffic routing.
What You’ll Need to Succeed

Technical Leadership: Proven experience in managing technical teams and projects.
Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure management.
Security Practices: Understanding of network security principles and practices.
Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams across various locations.
