About the Team:
We are seeking a talented Engineering Manager to spearhead our Infrastructure / DevOps team. This team is crucial in ensuring the delivery, operational health, and execution of infrastructure work that underpins critical production systems across the organization.
This role demands a solid technical foundation to guide decision-making and support the team, with success hinging on effective prioritization, clear direction, and strong people leadership rather than solely on individual contributions.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Infrastructure / DevOps engineers, promoting growth, sustainable workloads, and long-term engagement.
- Own the planning and delivery for the team, ensuring clarity in priorities, meeting commitments, and defining ownership.
- Be accountable for system reliability, incident response practices, and post-incident reviews that lead to measurable improvements over time.
- Provide technical oversight through design reviews, guiding architectural choices, and assisting the team in navigating trade-offs.
- Ensure that documentation, runbooks, and operational standards are consistently maintained and evolved.
- Act as the primary accountability point when collaborating with cross-functional teams, facilitating infrastructure work that supports the broader organization.
What You'll Bring to the Table:
- Experience managing engineers in a leadership capacity.
- A robust background in Infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with production systems in AWS.
- Strong proficiency with Linux, Kubernetes, and containerized systems.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform.
- Comfort in leading teams through incidents and operational challenges, with a focus on learning and improvement.
