About the Role
As the Engineering Manager at HackerRank, you will spearhead the technical vision and execution for the HackerRank Developer Community product, which serves over 26 million developers worldwide. This critical position involves creating an engaging, scalable platform that fosters developers' growth in their technical skills.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to seamlessly integrate community features into the HackerRank ecosystem. Your leadership will guide the team’s roadmap, mentor engineers, and cultivate a high-performing environment that prioritizes delivering delightful, impactful user experiences at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the technical vision for HackerRank’s platform.
- Design systems capable of scaling to support hundreds of thousands of concurrent users.
- Implement product strategies and oversee delivery commitments for user-facing features.
- Guide engineers in producing high-quality, maintainable solutions.
- Establish clear career progression paths for team members and foster their professional development.
- Collaborate intimately with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to curate the community product roadmap.
Who You Are
- An engineering leader with over 8 years of experience in designing enterprise systems, focusing on high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, security, and distributed systems.
- A minimum of 2 years in engineering management, including hands-on technical leadership.
- Proven expertise in recruiting and managing technical teams, with a strong focus on performance management.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, capable of hiring, leading, and mentoring technical teams while meeting deadlines and managing stakeholder expectations.
