ROLE OVERVIEW

Benchling aims to fast-track life sciences research and development. We develop a comprehensive suite of tools that scientists employ daily to address critical global challenges. Our tools must be fine-tuned to enhance scientists' efficiency across a wide range of research, development, and manufacturing processes. This is where our Data Input team plays a crucial role.

The Data Input team is responsible for creating platforms and user experiences that empower scientists and lab operators to efficiently gather and manage their data. We design structured tables, forms, and data entry tools that allow scientists to input, transform, and relay their laboratory data seamlessly. Our focus encompasses not only the user experience for scientists in the lab but also the integration capabilities for software developers who utilize our components in their applications. Increasingly, we are integrating AI-driven features that make data entry quicker, more precise, and more insightful.

Currently, we are concentrating on enhancing the fundamental capabilities of the platform that is the backbone for Benchling's most essential applications—investing in foundational re-architecture, performance enhancements, and scalability efforts that will unlock new APIs, AI features, and future product functionalities. This is technically challenging work that requires careful planning and a long-term perspective. This position is perfect for managers who thrive in deep technical environments, have a proven history of guiding teams through extensive refactoring and platform migrations, and take pride in constructing the foundations that lead to significant customer successes.
