As a Part-Time Elementary Instructor, you will:
- Deliver an Engaging Curriculum: Utilize our specially designed curriculum tailored for advanced learners to guide small classes focused on elementary math and language arts.
- Engage and Inspire Students: Actively involve students in their learning journey through interactive, student-led activities.
- Manage Classroom Dynamics: Skillfully oversee a classroom of up to 16 students.
- Assess and Provide Feedback: Evaluate student performance through tests and assignments, offering constructive feedback to aid their learning.
- Build Meaningful Relationships: Establish connections with students and their families to positively impact their educational experiences.
- Foster a Love for Learning: Encourage critical thinking and a passion for learning in elementary math and language arts.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a Bachelor’s degree (required).
- Holds a degree in a STEM-related field, Education, or Humanities, or has equivalent experience relevant to math and/or language arts.
- Exhibits strong understanding of math, reading, writing, and grammar.
- Has prior classroom teaching experience at the K-5 level (preferred).
- Brings experience in teaching or tutoring students.
Note: A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.
Schedule (Academic Year):
- Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends, with candidates expected to be available for weekday after-school hours (starting as early as 4 PM) or weekends.
- A minimum commitment of about 3 hours per week is required for each assigned class.
- Each class session lasts for 1 hour and 45 minutes and meets once a week.
Schedule (Summer):
- During summer months, various two-week camps are offered from June to August.
- Camp sessions occur Monday through Friday for 3 hours each day, with options for both morning and afternoon classes.
