Role Overview: EV Charging Field Service Electrician

This position focuses on onsite repair and maintenance of electric vehicle charging stations in the Buffalo, New York area. The Electrician ensures site safety, maintains and repairs electrical systems, generates field reports, and meets contractual obligations. The role requires independent work with minimal supervision and flexibility to adapt to changing field conditions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Test, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade equipment ranging from Level 2 EV chargers to DC Fast Chargers, following OEM procedures.
  • Perform comprehensive equipment testing, including insulation (megger) testing, thermal imaging, torque checks, and performance evaluations.
  • Diagnose system performance issues and locate ground faults.
  • Coordinate with the Planning and Scheduling team to maintain schedules and complete work orders accurately and on time.
  • Review site manuals and drawings to ensure proper service and equipment maintenance.
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance on site equipment, provide field reports, and complete work orders.
  • Document all onsite issues in the work order system and ensure timely resolution.
