About the job
About Atomic Semi
Atomic Semi is revolutionizing the semiconductor industry with a compact, high-speed fabrication facility.
Using cutting-edge technology and innovative simplifications, we are committed to building our own tools for rapid prototyping and improvement.
Our dedicated team of skilled engineers spans various disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, hardware, and process engineering. We take ownership of the entire stack, from atomic-level design to architectural implementation. Our forward-thinking team is passionate about pushing technological boundaries.
We believe in the mantra: smaller is better, faster is better, and building it ourselves is essential.
With a well-equipped lab featuring 3D printers, advanced microscopes, e-beam writers, and general fabrication tools, we are ready to invent what we need as we progress.
Founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller, Atomic Semi combines Sam's unique experience of creating chips in a garage with Jim's extensive 40-year history in the semiconductor field.
About the Internship
We are seeking a passionate RF Power Engineering Intern for the fall semester, starting in September. This internship offers a preferred commitment of 4 to 8 months. You will be directly involved in rebuilding our chip fabrication processes, allowing you to engage in impactful projects. You’ll rapidly develop and test compact RF systems for our fabrication tools, identify challenges, prototype innovative solutions, and turn those prototypes into final products that reshape IC manufacturing.
Our swift-paced environment prioritizes getting projects built and tested within days or weeks, rather than months. To apply, please submit a portfolio showcasing your previous work, particularly any medium-to-high complexity systems you've developed through personal projects or internships.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complete RF power systems, from architecture through schematic to layout.
- Perform accurate RF power diagnostics and metrology.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Participate in the prototyping and testing phases of RF systems.
- Document findings and present results to the team.
