As a Driver Rehabilitation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in empowering clients to achieve their mobility independence by conducting thorough assessments of their driving capabilities. You will provide essential driver training to assist clients in obtaining or retaining their driver’s license. Additionally, you will recommend suitable vehicles and adaptive equipment for drivers and safe passengers with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive driver evaluations, including clinical assessments, behind-the-wheel tests, vehicle and adaptive equipment assessments, which may require travel for service provision.
- Offer personalized driver training programs to aid clients in obtaining or maintaining their driver’s license.
- Meet established productivity standards while effectively utilizing supervision to communicate client progress.
- Complete and review necessary documentation within set timeframes, including monthly progress notes, evaluations, training reports, and DMV reports.
- Engage in effective communication with clients, funding sources, referral agents, colleagues, and other professionals to manage a diverse caseload.
- Conduct timely inspections and maintenance of departmental vehicles.
- Thoroughly research adaptive equipment and vehicles to ensure the best recommendations.
- Participate actively in team meetings and required training sessions.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures, recognizing the importance of Corporate Compliance Policies and the Code of Conduct.
- Maintain all necessary certifications and licenses to perform job functions effectively.
