About the Safety Data Analysis Team

The Safety Data Analysis group evaluates and improves the safety performance of Torc Drive. Team members apply engineering methods, statistical analysis, and big data techniques to turn complex datasets into actionable safety metrics.

Role Overview: Director of Safety Data Analysis

This leadership role oversees the safety data analysis team, guiding both on-road and simulation-based monitoring. The director ensures the team produces reliable, well-documented analyses and aligns work with internal safety policies and regulatory standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Development
    • Mentor and lead safety analysts and engineers, setting clear roles and expectations for safety monitoring in both real-world and simulated environments.
    • Conduct regular technical reviews and provide feedback to maintain high standards of analysis and documentation.
    • Set rigorous standards for defining problems, choosing analytical methods, and interpreting results, especially when working with sparse or rare-event data.
    • Promote knowledge sharing through documentation and cross-training within the team.
  • Governance and Decision Support
    • Ensure team outputs meet internal safety policies and regulatory requirements, using statistical and risk-based evidence.
    • Apply engineering judgment to evaluate safety performance and manage residual risk.
