The ideal candidate will demonstrate a successful track record in closing government business and fostering relationships with key agencies and partners. This high-impact role aims to generate immediate revenue while laying the groundwork for a sustainable growth strategy in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and successfully close government contract opportunities across various agencies.
  • Build and oversee a pipeline of qualified opportunities utilizing platforms like SAM.gov, GovWin, and other relevant tools.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with contracting officers, agencies, and prime contractors.
  • Manage the complete sales lifecycle from opportunity identification to contract award and execution.
  • Lead capture positioning and strategic deal-making to enhance the likelihood of contract wins.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align product offerings with government requirements and procurement processes.
  • Establish and implement go-to-market strategies for public sector growth and funding channels.
  • Monitor pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report on key performance metrics.
  • Support proposal strategies, ensuring compliance with submission requirements.
  • Drive partnerships and teaming agreements to broaden market access and contract opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in government sales, business development, or public sector contracting.
  • Demonstrated success in personally closing government contracts and overseeing revenue generation.
  • In-depth understanding of federal, state, and municipal procurement processes (RFPs, RFQs, IDIQs, GSA schedules).
  • Experience with platforms such as SAM.gov, GovWin, or similar government opportunity tools.
  • Existing relationships with government agencies or prime contractors are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a startup or build-from-scratch environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
