Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and successfully close government contract opportunities across various agencies.
- Build and oversee a pipeline of qualified opportunities utilizing platforms like SAM.gov, GovWin, and other relevant tools.
- Develop and nurture relationships with contracting officers, agencies, and prime contractors.
- Manage the complete sales lifecycle from opportunity identification to contract award and execution.
- Lead capture positioning and strategic deal-making to enhance the likelihood of contract wins.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align product offerings with government requirements and procurement processes.
- Establish and implement go-to-market strategies for public sector growth and funding channels.
- Monitor pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report on key performance metrics.
- Support proposal strategies, ensuring compliance with submission requirements.
- Drive partnerships and teaming agreements to broaden market access and contract opportunities.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in government sales, business development, or public sector contracting.
- Demonstrated success in personally closing government contracts and overseeing revenue generation.
- In-depth understanding of federal, state, and municipal procurement processes (RFPs, RFQs, IDIQs, GSA schedules).
- Experience with platforms such as SAM.gov, GovWin, or similar government opportunity tools.
- Existing relationships with government agencies or prime contractors are preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a startup or build-from-scratch environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
