Position Summary
In the role of Head of Firmware and System Engineering, you will guide the creation of high-reliability embedded firmware and system architectures that power our electric vehicle solutions. You will manage interdisciplinary teams focused on motor control, battery management, telematics, and safety-critical systems across various electric vehicle platforms. This position necessitates profound technical expertise, cross-functional leadership, and a commitment to promoting sustainable mobility.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Articulate and implement the long-term vision for firmware and system engineering in line with our electric vehicle strategy.
- Foster technological advancements in motor control, BMS, vehicle control units (VCUs), telematics, and charging systems.
- Work collaboratively with product management, hardware, and mechanical teams to synchronize engineering aspirations with business goals.
Technical Oversight
- Supervise the development of embedded firmware for EV subsystems: traction control, BMS, CAN communication, diagnostics, HMI, and OTA updates.
- Lead the system engineering team in establishing system architecture, requirements, functional safety, and integration strategies for 2W/3W/4W platforms.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory mandates (e.g., AIS-038, ISO 26262, ISO 15118).
Team Management
- Recruit and nurture high-performing teams across firmware and systems engineering disciplines.
- Develop standards for development, validation processes, and comprehensive documentation practices.
- Cultivate a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Act as the technical liaison among software, hardware, mechanical, QA, and manufacturing teams to guarantee smooth integration and product preparedness.
- Assist field and customer-facing teams with advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for system-level challenges.
Project Execution
- Oversee project planning, technical risk assessments, and deliverables across multiple EV projects.
- Monitor and report on engineering KPIs, including quality, adherence to timelines, and defect resolution.
- Lead system verification and validation, DVP&R, and certification processes for EV platforms.
