The Workflows team creates Okta’s no-code automation platform. This platform allows customers to solve identity and business process challenges without writing code, and sits at the heart of Okta’s Identity Orchestration strategy. Workflows connects identity across a wide range of applications and systems. The team works with technologies such as React, Typescript, and Node.js, and operates at scale on Kubernetes in AWS and GCP.

Role overview

The Director of Engineering, Workflows Experiences, leads the teams responsible for building the user-facing components of Okta Workflows. This position shapes product direction, oversees operational quality, and supports customers in automating processes without code. It is a high-impact, visible role within Okta.

What you will do

  • Lead, hire, and mentor engineers, architects, and engineering managers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and psychological safety.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Design leadership to define product vision and execute a multi-year roadmap.
  • Set technical strategy for the Workflows user experience, developing a secure, scalable, reliable, and intuitive platform using React, Node.js, and Kubernetes.
  • Oversee operational processes, using metrics and frameworks to drive engineering excellence and predictable delivery.
  • Represent teams and strategy in leadership forums and company-wide reviews, communicating technical progress and initiatives.
