About the Client
This role supports a major UK general insurer headquartered in London. The company manages a growing portfolio in both personal and commercial lines, with annual revenues of £1.8 billion. Following the arrival of a new Group CEO, the insurer has launched a wide-reaching transformation program focused on modernizing operations, improving cost efficiency, and elevating customer experiences in claims, underwriting, and distribution. The Director of Business Transformation will play a central part in delivering these changes.
Role Overview
The Director of Business Transformation leads the design and rollout of the company’s transformation program. This position works directly with the Group CEO and COO to shape the transformation agenda, establish and manage a dedicated transformation office, and deliver measurable results across the business. The role provides regular access to the Board and the chance to help set the future direction of a prominent financial services organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the scope and structure of the transformation program in partnership with the Group Executive Committee, securing Board sponsorship and funding.
- Build and lead a transformation office, including program managers, business analysts, and change leaders.
- Own the transformation roadmap, ensuring workstreams are properly sequenced, resourced, and governed.
- Serve as the senior point of contact between the transformation program and business divisions, handling escalations and maintaining alignment.
- Deliver regular updates on program performance to the Board Transformation Committee and Executive Committee.
