About the Role
The Broker-Dealer Operations Team at Betterment manages and operates our broker-dealer entity, which safeguards over $65 billion in assets for more than one million customers. Responsibilities include firm-level dividend and corporate action processing, reconciliations, designing and implementing internal controls, and regulatory and financial reporting to ensure compliance with pertinent FINRA and SEC rules.
This team collaborates across departments to enhance and automate processes, maintaining relationships with various third parties such as auditors, clearing firms, and banking institutions. Additionally, we partner with Product and Engineering teams to design and operate innovative products like Self-Directed Investing and Securities Lending.
As the Director of Broker-Dealer Operations, you will lead the team, overseeing all financial and operational aspects of our broker-dealer business. You will work cross-functionally to ensure compliance with industry regulations, maintain accurate financial records, develop new products, and optimize operational processes to support our growth.
This position is based in our NYC office, requiring in-office attendance from Monday to Thursday each week. Below is the base salary range we offer for this position, which may vary based on location, experience, and performance. The listed range is one component of Betterment’s total compensation package.
- New York City: $173,000 - $189,000
