Job Summary: Pay Range: $20 - $40/hr based on experience

We are seeking a talented Directional Bore Operator to join our team at Essel Environmental. In this role, you will be pivotal in operating and maintaining advanced directional drilling equipment for the installation of underground utilities. Your expertise will significantly contribute to the successful and safe completion of our projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in directional boring techniques, along with an unwavering commitment to workplace safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate directional boring machinery for the underground installation of pipelines, cables, and utility lines.
  • Perform pre-operational checks and necessary maintenance on directional drilling equipment.
  • Interpret engineering plans, maps, and specifications to accurately determine drilling locations.
  • Monitor drilling operations, making adjustments to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines throughout the drilling process, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with crew members, including laborers and supervisors, to maintain workflow.
  • Train and mentor junior crew members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional specialized training in directional boring is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience operating directional boring equipment in construction or utility installation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and ability to identify hazards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Directional Bore Operator.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain directional drilling equipment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to various job sites.
  • Knowledge of underground utility installation practices is highly desirable.
