The Development team at Harvard Law School is a vibrant and engaging fundraising unit focused on garnering philanthropic support to further the Dean's vision and objectives.
We are on the lookout for a dedicated Development Assistant to provide essential support to three frontline fundraisers. This role is crucial to our larger team and encompasses a variety of complex and confidential administrative tasks. The Development Assistant will actively engage in major and principal gift initiatives, acquiring insights into specific fundraising goals and programs while assisting with gift prospect assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial prospect research, monitor the solicitation process and progress, and update contact reports.
- Collaborate with team members to organize prospect portfolios and work with major gift officers to identify potential donors through reporting and prospecting tools.
- Coordinate meetings and travel arrangements, compile prospect profiles and related briefing materials, and ensure timely follow-up on prospect visits by preparing correspondence, reports, and updating the central prospect database.
- Process travel expense reimbursements.
- Assist in planning and executing leadership events.
- Respond to inquiries from donors and alumni as appropriate.
- Act as a liaison between HLS administrative offices, alumni, donors, and volunteers.
- Work collaboratively on joint travel and events for major gift initiatives alongside other fundraising teams.
- Cooperate closely with fellow Development Assistants to manage various projects effectively.
- Prepare presentation materials for distribution.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
