***Please note that this role is not fully remote. This is a hybrid position in Chicago and will require occasional in-office presence***

About the role:

The Desktop Systems Engineer I will play a crucial role in delivering technical support and expertise in deploying, managing, and maintaining workstation operating systems and software. This position demands strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to thrive both independently and within a team in a dynamic environment. You will also contribute to system upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the seamless integration of new technologies at OppFi.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and oversee workstation configuration management platforms.
  • Package, test, and deploy applications and configurations across the organization.
  • Implement Windows and Mac OS deployments along with third-party patches across the computing landscape.
  • Remediate vulnerabilities on workstations.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and best practices for our Service Desk.
  • Collaborate on cross-team projects with Security and Platform Engineering.
  • Manage office systems and operational workflows.
  • Assist in designing and maintaining our hybrid work environment.
  • Maintain imaging solutions for Windows and Mac OS deployments.
