About the job

As the Design Lead for Electrical AC at Assystem, you will take the helm in overseeing and implementing engineering initiatives for solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants. Your expertise will include the review and execution of key engineering activities such as AC Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), building layouts, earthing layouts, cable sizing calculations, transformer sizing, and low/high tension breakers. You will play a critical role in guiding the development of Building Information Modeling (BIM) 3D models for solar projects and ensuring seamless coordination across various departments including Civil/Structural, Instrumentation, and MEP. Your leadership will be vital in delivering high-quality engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-bid engineering through to commissioning and warranty support.

In this role, you will lead a dedicated team of Design Engineers and Draughts Persons, ensuring that all engineering activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engineering drawings and documents on schedule
  • Ensure alignment with project timelines
  • Review designs and calculations by team members, securing client approvals
  • Evaluate vendor deliverables related to engineering
  • Manage multitasking and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Estimate and plan man-hour requirements
  • Review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and provide technical clarifications to the contracts team
  • Facilitate inter-departmental checks
  • Support site execution teams with necessary clarifications
  • Conduct pre-award evaluations of vendors based on technical specifications
  • Inspect equipment from final vendors post-validation
  • Clarify design-related issues with the site execution team
  • Gather project details from clients and project engineering managers
  • Coordinate with operations for design specifications and approvals
  • Review deliverables including equipment layouts, cable routing layouts, and earthing layouts
  • Assist Electrical DC and Civil/Structural teams in vendor drawing reviews
  • Submit man-hour requirements for design and drawing reviews
