About the Role Dex is looking for a Head of Engineering who enjoys building great products and strong teams. This is a hands-on leadership role. The current engineering group has three skilled team members and is set to double soon. This position works closely with the founder and is a key part of the leadership team, responsible for the technology roadmap and making decisions about how resources are used. Key Responsibilities Set the technical vision: make architectural choices, improve system design, and keep the codebase clean and maintainable as the company grows. Raise engineering standards: establish code review guidelines, incident response practices, and quality expectations to support team excellence. Build effective processes: introduce planning, delivery, and review habits that improve performance without adding unnecessary bureaucracy. Stay hands-on: contribute to backend systems, infrastructure, and product features. Lead by example through active participation, not just management. Location This role is based in London, with a mix of in-person and flexible work.
