About the Role:
The World Refining Association (WRA) is the leading global network for Downstream Oil & Gas operators and innovative technology providers. We host a series of renowned global conferences and exclusive networking events in major cities such as Lisbon, Houston, Buenos Aires, Cannes, Singapore, and Rio de Janeiro.
We are currently seeking a passionate and commercially savvy Delegate Sales Executive to join the World Refining Association in London. This role focuses on our largest event portfolio, aiming to exceed delegate revenue targets while reporting to the WRA’s Global Managing Director. The Delegate Sales Executive will be responsible for achieving sales KPIs and targets for each event, in accordance with the established commission structure.
The ideal candidate will be data-driven and enthusiastic, dedicated to creating, executing, and reporting on the commercial aspects of each event. This role involves selling to both incoming leads and new prospects, driving strategic growth, and expanding our market presence. You will manage relationships with existing and new clients, develop delegate sales strategies, and meet revenue goals across our event portfolio. Close collaboration with marketing, sponsorship, and production teams will be essential to align sales efforts with organizational targets.
The perfect fit will have a solid understanding of the Oil and Gas sector (preferably downstream), exhibit exceptional attention to detail, and be customer-focused, proactive, and an excellent team player capable of managing multiple projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize professional sales experience to drive revenue growth.
- Implement a consultative selling approach.
- Ensure the event sales plan is executed as intended—on target and within forecast.
- Identify new commercial opportunities and develop additional revenue streams.
- Maintain a robust understanding of key market drivers and reflect them in business strategies.
- Conduct personal research (both over the phone and in person) to stay informed about industry trends.
