At least 3-5 years of proven experience as a Database Performance Engineer or in a similar role. Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and proficiency in SQL. Basic knowledge of GraphDB, Kubernetes, and Linux is a plus.

Become a Key Player in Collibra’s Product & Database Reliability Team

We are on the lookout for a talented and experienced Database Engineer to join our innovative team at Collibra. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our PostgreSQL database systems. Your expertise will guide cross-functional collaboration, provide technical leadership, and implement best practices to optimize our database infrastructure.

This is a hybrid position based in our Raleigh office, requiring you to work in the office at least two days a week. Our hybrid model fosters connection, teamwork, and continuous progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance Optimization: Conduct analysis and optimization of database performance through monitoring, tuning, and query optimization to achieve quick response times and efficient resource utilization, collaborating with engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Right Sizing: Engage in capacity planning and forecasting to predict future database needs, ensuring scalability, and automating sizing methodologies.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Diagnose and address complex database issues, including performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies, leveraging observability data for pattern recognition.
  • Collaboration: Partner with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to comprehend application requirements and provide database-related guidance.
  • Automation: Implement automation for repetitive tasks and performance monitoring, enhancing process efficiency and developing automated solutions for continuous workload analysis.
  • Best Practices & Documentation: Establish best practices for database architecture, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
