Role Overview: Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure & Acquisition This role sits within the AI team and centers on building and managing the data infrastructure that powers model training. The engineer in this position will focus on collecting and acquiring large-scale audio datasets, integrating engineering and research to support Speechify’s future models. What You Will Do Identify and secure new audio data sources to strengthen the data ingestion pipeline. Manage and expand cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), using Terraform. Collaborate with scientists to improve data cost, throughput, and quality for next-generation models. Support the AI team’s dataset roadmap, helping to advance both consumer and enterprise products. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical design skills, excellent project coordination capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate within a multidisciplinary design team, supporting the Project Manager and Senior Engineers to deliver electrical design tasks.Create designs for electrical power distribution systems, including single-line diagrams, site power layouts, motor control schematics, standby/emergency power systems, lighting layouts, and general power distribution plans.Assist in developing Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) designs for SCADA monitoring and control systems, which encompass control panels, P&IDs, process control narratives, I/O lists, instrumentation selection, and communication network diagrams.Draft detailed designs, calculations, technical specifications, and contract documents for municipal infrastructure facilities, including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and related installations.Contribute to design reports, technical memoranda, cost estimates, tender documents, and construction drawings.Engage in field investigations, site inspections, and condition assessments to support design and construction efforts.Review shop drawings and assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for electrical and instrumentation equipment.Support contract administration activities, including addressing RFIs, reviewing change orders, and monitoring construction progress for compliance with contract specifications.Interface with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal project stakeholders.At CIMA+, we are committed to fostering a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative environment where you can make a meaningful impact.
