The Growth Data Science team partners with product and engineering leaders to help businesses launch and grow on Stripe. This group focuses on improving user journeys, beginning with first awareness and continuing through acquisition, adoption, expansion, and retention. The team is recognized for expertise in experimentation, advanced causal analysis, and a deep understanding of user behavior. Collaboration spans Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Developer Platform, Support, and Risk teams.
Role overview
The Data Science Manager, Growth, guides the team’s direction and impact. This leader contributes directly to modeling and design, while also coaching and developing data scientists. The role requires a strong focus on users, technical depth, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners, including senior leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Define the roadmap and priorities for the Growth Data Science team in partnership with Stripe leaders, supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, analytics, operations, finance, and marketing.
- Manage and improve processes to ensure the team delivers high-quality work and remains connected to the broader Stripe community.
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, supporting their technical growth and career development.
- Work with recruiting to hire and onboard new data science talent.
- Participate in broader data science initiatives as part of Stripe’s management team.

This position is based in Seattle, WA; New York, NY; or can be remote within North America.
