The Billing Operations and Systems Manager ensures billing operations run efficiently and accurately. This role serves as the central authority for billing governance, process design, and aligning systems. Collaboration with Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, IT, Revenue, and Billing teams is essential. The manager will promote standardization, automation, and operational efficiency in a high-volume SaaS setting, working closely with system owners and engineering teams. Candidates within commuting distance to Calgary follow a hybrid schedule (three days in-office, two days remote). Fully remote work is possible for those outside the Calgary area. What you will do Act as the global owner and control point for billing operations, establishing and enforcing standards, governance frameworks, and scalable workflows for intake, validation, approval, and execution. Review and approve standard and non-standard deal structures, contract terms, and complex billing scenarios to ensure operational viability and compliance. Monitor performance metrics and error trends to spot process gaps and inefficiencies, then drive resolutions and standardizations to reduce manual workarounds. Serve as the escalation point for complex billing issues, ensuring timely resolution and implementing process or system improvements to prevent recurrence. Translate complex business requirements and operational needs into structured, system-enabled solutions in partnership with IT, Engineering, and system owners. Lead cross-functional initiatives and new program launches, working with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and Customer Success to align deal structures with billing capabilities. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation, and process standards, and provide training and guidance to team members.
