Role Overview
As the Data Center Project Manager - Construction, reporting directly to the Data Center Construction Director, you will spearhead the planning, budgeting, and risk management processes for Fluidstack’s global data centers. By collaborating closely with the Construction and Design teams, you will transform ambitious capacity objectives into actionable project plans, ensuring all stakeholders remain aligned from project initiation to customer handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop integrated schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project, overseeing the execution of the master construction schedule from site mobilization through substantial completion and turnover.
- Manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and change order processes while reporting earned-value KPIs on a weekly basis.
- Facilitate phase-gate and 30/60/90% design reviews, maintaining RACI matrices and action logs for clarity and accountability.
- Oversee contract lifecycles, including RFPs, bid analysis, awards, PCO tracking, and close-out documentation.
- Identify critical-path and long-lead risks (e.g., transformers, chillers, switchgear) and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the primary source of truth for internal leadership and external partners, providing clear and concise status reports.
- Offer strategic direction and leadership to cross-functional project delivery teams, including project managers, construction managers, and superintendents.
- Develop staffing plans, oversee performance management, and promote talent development within the project organization.
- Lead project standups, reviews, and retrospectives to foster accountability and continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, with preference given to candidates with relevant experience in large-scale construction projects.
- Proven track record in managing complex construction projects, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate project needs and statuses effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.
- Experience with risk management and budget oversight in a construction environment.
